A wonderful classic, full of memorable (and some less memorable) songs, brilliantly performed. Julie Andrews' voice and Dick van Dyke's tap dancing skills blend perfectly. Slower moving than today's films, this is a delightful story for adults or children, with some magic as well as some all-too-real poignant scenes involving a workaholic father.

Highly recommended. Our DVD set has a whole disc of 'extras', which give a lot of fascinating background and some interviews.

For the limited technology of special effects in the 1960's, this movie certainly did a great job with the tools it had to make a movie that was a lot of fun to watch, and who couldn't love Julie Andrews? (Movie Mary Poppins is a lot nicer than book Mary Poppins)
London children stay with a witch during WWII.

2/4 (Indifferent)

The mediocre-but-whimsical second half almost persuaded me not to hate it. Then the last five minutes happened.

2/4 (Indifferent).

There are some cute moments, but why is it so long? It just keeps going...
