Well, unlike several other reviewers, I was enchanted by *both* the text and the art. Read the words aloud and you'll hear the rhythm and subtle rhymes. Well, not always super subtle - the spread with the frogs reads Hip-hop, bebop, farm frogs rock hop!"

And if anyone would complain about pictures being 'hard to make out' it would be me, with my old eyes, but I loved these collages. They remind me of [a:Denise Fleming|25893|Denise show more Fleming|http://www.goodreads.com/assets/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66-4df4c878d4149c45fac159e88cb784ad.jpg], for example [b:In the Tall, Tall Grass|7173842|In the Tall, Tall Grass|Denise Fleming|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1317065351s/7173842.jpg|1363998] but are actually easier to see than some of her work.

This is a book I could have read over and over again to my babies."

The pictures in this book is what caught my attention as soon as I opened it to read it. The pictures are of many different textured pictures put together to make the animals and other great things you find on a farm. It had the "Goodnight Moon" vibe about it, but it was morning and just as on a real farm the rooster is first to wake up after the barn of course! The pictures are what really grabbed my attention and would use this inside of an art classroom to make the children aware of a show more cool new art project we were going to do! show less
This is a wonderful read-aloud for young children. It has great illustrations made from torn and cut magazine scraps and colored paper pieces. I think children would enjoy the animal sounds. This would be a great book to read to students when introducing animals.
This book was very appealing to me. Though fun, with very little words, I believe this book is a very educational book for young children. The book shows a variety of animals noises that can be found on a barn. It teaches children to make a connection between the name of an animal, the look of the animal and the sound the animal makes. Overall, I think this book is a super cute and fun book, with very unique illustrations. I would recommend this book to anyone or read it again to someone.
