NCLA Review: In the 1970s, summertime was all about mowing yards, hanging out with friends, having your first crush on a girl and trying to ignore the neighborhood bully. A friendship that develops between a 12-year-old boy, Dustin, and a 75-year-old man, Jonathan, who attend church together eventually affects the whole neighborhood. As the older man shares his faith with Dustin and he in turn shares with his friends, lives begin to change. They all learn about faith and forgiveness from the show more teachings of one man willing to give a little of his time and himself to some neighborhood boys. Written, produced and directed by Christian filmmaker Rich Christiano, this is an inspiring film for all ages. Bonus features include a 40-minute documentary “Behind the Secrets,” a commentary between Rich Christiano and Gavin MacCloud, the “Houses of Jonathan Sperry” and a “Special Message from The Director.” A promo filmed in front of art depicting a man lighting a cigarette could be offensive to some viewers. "The movie is set in a small Texas town, a man, while driving home on a back highway at night, claims to have encountered a UFO. Two reporters from a national magazine are sent to investigate the incident because their editor wants to publish a story on the controversial subject UFO's. Brad thinks UFO's are a hoax, Keith senses that something is out there. Each man tries to prove the wrong."
This is one of my favorite movies. I thought it was exceptionally well done for the Christian market. The subject was timely and significant.
One of the best obviously Christian movies I have seen.
