A decent look at the life of the world's worst singer, Florence Foster Jenkins. Madame Jenkins has risen to new fame with the film starring Meryl Streep. This book tells us the real story. Florence was born to wealth and privilege, but always wanted to become a singer. It's fascinating to read about how she never really noticed how bad her own voice was. In fact, when she compared it alongside other recordings, she thought hers was superior! About five of Florence's letters survive. So, show more these letters and her recordings are all we have of Florence's own voice. The author does a good job piecing together her life.
