Jerry Clower was an ace during his day, reminding churchgoers that humor was not only OK but a necessary ingredient in life. He is best known for his short, hilarious stories about his Mississippi kin. This book is a compilation of his thoughts, his beliefs, his background, the times he rubbed shoulders with celebrities and some of his funny stories. I rated it low because, even though I was glad I read through it, I've seen better works from (about) Jerry - this will become a yard sale show more book, in fact, that's where I bought it. show less
I’ve been a fan of Jerry Clower my entire life and this collection of his “stories told funny” are some of his essential tales that still bring back extremely fond memories of time spent with my grandfather listening to Jerry Clower records on Sunday afternoons. I can still hear his voice ring. There will never be another humorist like Jerry Clower and this book is a must have for anyone who is even slightly a Jerry Clower fan.
