Struggling to teach myself electromagnetism (for fun), I bought this book to get my maths to a sufficient level.
The book uses program learning, and step by step teaches the subject matter needed to go further. It is suitable as a self-study text. I find I need to refer to some more elementary text for gaps in my knowledge. (The same Authors "Engineering Mathematics" is suitable.)
I believe a motivated learner could use the book to advance their skills beyond school leaving level, and provide show more them with a toolkit for studying engineering or physics. A mathematics student might want something more conceptual.
For me, the book does exactly what I want & need. Look at the contents to see if it matches your requirements. show less

I've learned more from simply reading this book straight through than from any of the instruction provided in 4 years of high school and 4 years of undergraduate studies.
