This book reminded me of when my brother would take my son to get his hair cut. We never had to worry about his safety or if he would be influenced by the adult conversations at the barber shop. When this little boy gets his hair it was clearly representing a major step towards growing up. Although, he was afraid at times he still managed to arrive home safely each time. I like how the the pictures transition from black and white photos in the beginning to a colorized version when the little show more boy's attitude changes. I would definitely recommend this book. show less
