This is a wide ranging collection of incidents from the annals of the Canadian Navy from its inception in 1910 to the Korean conflict of the 1950's. Most are short. The author wrote them with intention that they would be readable for the masses so some of the naval terms are simplified. Unfortunately in doing so he uses terms that are not usually expressed the way he employs them. In one description he called torpedoes missiles which for the lay reader may cause confusion. One interesting show more approach he used that one would not expect in a book of this type was to included negative information about certain officers and sailors whom he names. He also addresses the mutinies that occurred during WW II and the years immediately after. He does include a detailed account on how these were handled by the Navy and the Government. show less
A wonderfully readable description of important battles in Canada's military history.
