- About My Library
- I am trying to reduce the size of my collection by donating the book I finish to a friend, a library or a charity for resale. I never expect to reread a book for there are so many I have not had the time to read that are sitting on my shelf or on the public library shelf or in a book store. I read many volumes of military history and when I finish a title, I donate it to the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. When I really wish to escape and read something that requires little thought, I read Western fiction. My favourite writer of this genre is Louis L"Amour, especially the books he wrote before he became fixated on Native mysticism.
- About Me
I am a retired teacher who spent 31 wonderful years teaching high school students in Ottawa, Canada. I taught English for several years and then became the school librarian. I am a bicycle tourist who rode the Adventure Cycling Underground Railroad Route from Mobile, AL to Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada which stimulated an interest in Black History. I enjoy watching movies, preferably the kind that don't need car chases & explosions to fill the 90 minutes. I live in Ottawa, Ontario spending my days searching out the many activities available to one in the area. I am always impressed with the services supplied by the Ottawa Public Library, especially the inter-library loan service.
