While certain points were truly awesome, the use of multiple POV across 6 characters proved to be its downfall.

Just as I began to enjoy one aspect of the story and root for one character, it inevitably fell short, time and time again..
This cycle repeated with each new perspective, making it more suitable for a TV show than a book due to the overwhelming number of viewpoints.

I did love the aspect and premise of the book. The storyline is very well put together and the intrigue is certainly show more there, along with great world-building. I just wish it had focused on 2-3 characters. We didn't need to follow everyone around. There's ways to intro whats happening without constantly switching perspectives. show less

This was a super interesting and well developed book. It is a bit out of my usual reading, but I really enjoyed it!
There were only two things that got to me, one was the usage of the word "Plebs". I would have died if I played a drinking game with that as the chosen word. And the other was the abrupt start. Everything did come together but at the start I was a bit confused and felt a little off kilter and would just have appreciated a bit more time getting to know the characters and their show more motivations. show less

I received this book as part of the Early Reviewers group. I really struggled with keeping up with the story line. I could not seem to keep up with who was who. I will try again, but for now it was not a favorite for me. I felt like there needed to be a primary character that was the central focus of the story and not so many directions.
