A collection of materials devoted to Waterloo, largely consisting of the letters of the brothers Luard, English soldiers with both Peninsular and Waterloo experience. There are sketches by John Luard, a moderately skilled artist, relating to towns and persons mentioned in the text. The letters are placed in context by Clive Cohen, and additional materials, including the uniform details for the British and KGL regiments present at Waterloo. A useful book, and a reference source for the show more Napoleonic scholar. Worth the reading, if not the purchase price. show less
