Following along with development of main characters from his previous titles, this novel weaves together all of Corrigan’s major characters to create a page turner of suspense on and off the golf course. When the police arrive at Nash’s college apartment to inform him as next of kin about his father’s death described as a brutally murder, Jack innocently becomes a target for the same killers as he tries to sort out Nash’s family secrets. Perkins, Jack, Nash, and the police deftly show more maneuver between these painful revelations of Nash’s father past while uncovering a smuggling venture based on a golf course that straddles the international border between the U.S. and Canada. Written with many golf interludes where Jack Austin’s golf excels, golf fans will surely find this book satisfying a reader’s appetite for both golf and mystery. show less
Grandstanding and innuendos about steroids in pro golf is the central theme to this Jack Austin mystery. As Jack works to unravel this complex issue that is above reproach for the professional golfer, he also is dealing with his best friend’s rehabilitation, Perkins, which he may not be a return to former physical stature. Jack becomes embroiled on and off the golf courses where he confronts and plays rounds with the guilty ones.
