Stone seems to have really found his voice. I like this one even better than the first one. It's funny, it's thoughtprovoking, it's entertaining... and it's over way too fast.
On to the third part.

Brilliantly funny! I really like Stone's writing style, it's very British and darkly hilarious. You start to like even the most despicable creature in the book while reading it. This is fantasy at its best and definitely not only for children.
Now I can't wait to start the second part.

Honestly, I was expecting a lot more after reading The Ratastrophe Catastophe. Unfortunately, The Yowler Foul-Up kind of fell flat for me. Most of the humor left me unamused, and the plot seemed poorly put together. In the beginning, there were so many characters with somewhat similar names that I got very confused and kind of just coasted through the story for the first half of the book. I didn't actually get interested until about two thirds of the way through, and at the point it did get show more rather exciting. The ending battle was fun and the very last chapter, though predictable, at least had me smiling.

I'll continue to read the series, but I wasn't overly impressed with this one.

Stone keeps getting better with every installement of the Illmore Chronicles. I'm still laughing about the twinling, the "she's a chicken" and the end of the book. Now I can't wait for vol. 4.
