I love plant folklore! And there are some really cool stories in here. Unfortunately, I don't know how accurate a lot of the practical information is because the author says Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) is toxic and Velvet Bean (Mucuna pruriens) causes hallucinations. This is shockingly inaccurate. I am a clinical herbalist and have personally taken both these plants. Both are sold and used widely for their non-toxic medicinal properties and have been for centuries. This can be easily show more cross-referenced in modern herbal medicine books, scientific studies, online, etc. But again, a good read for the stories! show less
