Note to self: check this out again when Ellie is 2. There are a lot of activities in here that I definitely want to try. My favorite bit of wisdom is that children should be allowed to explore and learn at their own pace. Implementing that will help children love to learn. I also love that all five senses are engaged in learning basic skills. I'm not sure that we will completely implement a Montessori environment but will definitely borrow a lot from it as Ellie ages.
Practical, straightforward, pragmatic read. Slender book, with lots of excellent ideas for anyone looking for ways to bring Montessori at the preschool level into his or her house. My children are home from Montessori for the summer and I wanted to keep a little consistency if possible. The book, along with a couple others, have given me nice ideas.
