This book is strong on the geology of quartz. Because it is aimed for the rockhound, the author also includes numerous photos of the styles of agates and rock crystals that can be found. There are also examples and discussion of silicified fossil-bearing rocks. It is not strong on sites to fing objects; use other publications for that.
Good factual history of the rise of gem & mineral societies and clubs in the United States, with photographs of many prominent early members.
