2966 The Cambridge Illustrated History of the British Empire, edited by P. J. Marshall (read 18 Mar 1997) This is a 1996 book, made up of 15 chapters by eight different persons. Its discussion of the various aspects of British Empire history is quite well-done, but it is an overview with very little narrative history.
