Anyone who can dress a loom and pass a shuttle through the warp is invited to use this book as a guide for weaving patterns. It is intended for beginners as well as advanced weavers in the hope of stimulating experimentation with a variety of methods including use of unusual mechanisms or simple loom modifications which open up greatly expanded possibilities. A variety of weaving tools, from ordinary pick – up sticks to elaborate drawlooms, are examined here to show how each functions and show more to offer a choice of ways to produce a desired pattern. In order to stay within reasonable limits, the focus is on the use of floor looms, though some methods are suitable for use with other loom types as well.
