This is the definitive guide and scarce guide to weaving pique. The book covers plain or ribbed pique, with or without wadding, waved and figured. There are instructions on designing pique patterns, creating pattern motifs and four shaft pick up.
This is a serious study weaving pique and is best used along with a sample warp and the instructions so as best to understand how it is woven.
A valuable book. Too bad that it is so hard to find.

A comprehensive book about the weave structure of Summer and Winter. Also addresses other tied weaves related to Summer and Winter. Good clear diagrams and drafts. Four shafts to multi-shaft looms. An excellent resource.
Summer and winter is a traditional American weave structure, best known for its use in some of the blue-and-white Early American coverlets. The name comes from these colonial fabrics, which were predominantly dark on one side and light on the other. In this book, Donna Sullivan shares her knowledge of the traditional uses of summer and winter, as well as a number of new applications which stretch the limits and expand the creative horizons of this familiar structure.
Weaving Overshot supplies a substantial foundation for this traditional weave structure, from basics of threading blocks to design techniques. In-depth discussions of design variations include turned overshot, overshot with more than four shafts, working with double layers and reading historic drafts. More than 100 drafts and photographs illustrate the diverse pattern possibilities
