In The Magic Raincoat, Emily receives an orange raincoat from her parents. She soon realizes that the coat is magical and grants all of her wishes. Emily uses the coat to get money and turn her brother into a dog. However, Emily feels bad after she wishes her dad was always home and he gets fired. She decides to only use the coat for good and on special occasions. Emily hangs up her coat for a later time. This book is great as it has very unique art design and is loaded with description. show more Even better, the descriptive words are bolded! This could be used to teach students ways to describe things and so on. show less
Very neat paper piece and object illustrations. A story about a girls who gets a magic raincoat and through trial and error she learns to only use her magic for good.
I thought this book was adorable! This is a fun way to show kids what it means to get exactly what you wish for.
Emily's mom gives her a new orange raincoat, but Emily is upset because she wanted a yellow one. This one is too big, but she soon finds out that her raincoat is magic. Ryan David tells a nice story of a girl who realizes that the things that she gets from the raincoat aren't as important as what she had. I loved the paper art illustration.
