Just re-reading this, re the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

For a 35 year old book, it's amazing how current this still is on Russian MBTs. Even before they dug the T-62s out of storage.

This is still a very good book. If nothing else, read the first chapter on doctrines, and the many changing doctrines during the early Cold War period, and how those had such a massive and ongoing influence on expenditure and designs. Still very relevant, especially as to _why_ Russian tanks are so bad in show more particular ways. Narrow, but critical, ways. show less
