3.5 stars. Quick read with dual POVs. I liked it but didn't love it overall, which I think was because the beginning didn't feel as compelling to me as the rest of the book and it set the tone early. I didn't really connect fully with either character as they were both a little too trope-y. Sadie was very much the guarded "grumpy," and even though Josh was the much more open "sunshine" I still found him a little hard to gauge sometimes. It did get better over time, though. Definitely show more insta-lust, once the sexual content got started it ramped up pretty fast and it was a little disorienting. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the amount of thought and detail put into the competitive pumpkin farming aspect (and the fabric artistry), which elevated this a bit beyond your typical fluffy romance. In fact, both characters' extremely niche interests made them feel more relatable to me as characters (as did their healthy and unabashed talk about the benefits of therapy). Nice amount of dry humor throughout. While not fully the book for me, this book is perfect for fans of instant-attraction, opposites-attract romance with an HEA. Publishes August 26, 2025. Herbstlich schön, inhaltlich zu flach

Ich finde es etwas schwierig, das Buch zu bewerten. Aufgrund des Covers habe ich eine cozy Herbstromance erwartet. Die Grundidee der Geschichte klang auch wirklich süß, allerdings stand sie im Buch selbst für mich nicht so sehr im Mittelpunkt. Stattdessen gab es deutlich mehr Spice, was für meinen Geschmack nicht so recht zur Geschichte gepasst hat. An sich habe ich nichts gegen Spice, aber hier wirkte es show more eher fehl am Platz.

Mit den Protagonisten konnte ich leider nicht so viel anfangen. Sie waren zwar süß, aber es blieb eher oberflächlich und ich habe keinen wirklichen Zugang zu ihnen gefunden. Auch die komplizierte Beziehung zwischen Sadie und ihrem Vater hat sich am Ende sehr schnell und fast zu einfach aufgelöst.

Trotzdem hat mir einiges gefallen: Das Cover ist wunderschön und vermittelt den erhofften Herbst-Vibe. Auch der Schreibstil war angenehm, und die Idee der Geschichte hatte wirklich Potenzial.

Insgesamt gebe ich dem Buch drei Sterne: Es war gut, aber für mich kein Must-Read. show less

This was a fun romance story. I love that you know how romance novels will end and yet, watching these characters get to that point is pure enjoyment. I love Sadie's dad and how grumpy he seems at the beginning of the book in comparison to how he is at the end of the book.

This is a great story to get you in the mood for fall. I look forward to reading more of Isabelle Popp's work in the future.
