Short vignettes from history focusing mostly on women and their contributions to first, science, history, love, etc. Humorous and interesting.

I enjoyed this. I often laughed out loud while reading about these women and men. I did know about Anne Bonney and Mary Read but had not heard of most the people in these vignettes. This is a fun book that opened my mind to new information. Perfect for a trivia buff and anyone wanting to learn something new and entertaining.
This is history for the Tiktok generation. Each chapter is maybe 2 minutes long and couples a historic event or person with a modern life lesson. As in if you think your love life is bad, imagine catching the eye of Henry the VIIIth. (that's not a chapter, but you get the idea). It's fairly wide ranging, and somewhat on a feminist slant. It is very very sweary and full of sexual innuendo. I found it amusing, but it is most certainly not for everyone!
What an incredibly odd book. My biggest problem with this book is that I have no use for nonfiction books that talk about history with no citations. This book gives no citations for anything (it doesn't even include a bibliography) making it hard to take its history as fact. Furthermore, the book is trying to be funny and relevant but often comes across as crude, and although it's mostly about strong women in history, it also has a strong bro factor to it that I didn't really like.
Excellent collection of very short historical trivia. Each story is only about two pages.
