I loved the art in this book. It was very appealing. However, the rhymes left something to be desired. A giraffe who liked to crawl? I'm not sure a giraffe physically can crawl. And others didn't have the write number of syllables to be balanced. Perhaps the purpose was to be not as expected? But then why have such lovely art?
I received this book from LibraryThing as an Early Reviewer. I work in an elementary school library and regularly read children's books.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.More of the same as the first volume. Lovely and colorful illustrations. Nice rhymes (one minor thing I noticed is that the last verse of Hector and Shawn's rhyme is identical) that children will find engaging and soothing, just perfect for bedtime and will capture the hearts of children and adults alike.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Nursery Rhymes Vol. III: Animals is another charming addition to Runjun Lahkar’s series.
The illustrations are bright and cheerful, and the rhymes are simple, light, and easy for young children to follow. It is perfect for a quick story time or a short bedtime read.
Each animal is given its own name, which I really enjoyed. Some rhymes introduce the animal by name and mention what it is, while others only share the name without saying the type of animal.
I would have loved to see both the show more animal’s name and what kind of animal it is in every rhyme. show less

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This is a beautiful book. The illustrations are bright, cheerful, and full of color, perfectly capturing the beauty and whimsy of flowers.
The rhymes are simple and easy for young children to enjoy and understand, though there was one rhyme with wording that felt a touch beyond what little ones might understand, still lovely, but maybe a bit grown up.
It’s a fast, read that keeps little ones interested from start to finish.
