Having kicked cancer to the curb, 60 something year old Georgie is ready to pursue her dream career of painting pet portraits. An opportunity opens up at an art gallery that expressed interest in doing a show of her artwork and Georgie takes twin Aleta along for the ride. What they didn’t expect was a murder taken placing and dashing Georgie’s hopes of having a gallery opening. Can Georgie and Aleta find the murderer before they become the next victims?

Georgie is the flirty, bold, and show more living life to the fullest twin. In contrast, accountant Aleta is more reserved and tries to keep Georgie balanced. It is the combination of their relationship and the hijinks they get themselves into that will keep you reading until the very last page.

This is a cozy mystery at its finest! With fun-loving amateur sleuths, a cast of characters including an ex-husband who is a police detective, and loads of mystery & some comic relief, like me you will want to immediately get the next book in the series.

Ashley Adams provides the desserts for the annual CURE golf tournament where she runs into Ryan's (Ashley's boyfriend) inebriated Uncle Charlie. When his partner for the tournament is murdered, he is the prime suspect and Ryan and Ashley start investigating to find the real killer. The victim was a cancer scientist who was not well liked, sexist, but ethical regarding his research which was having problems. Lots of possible murders. Good cozy but not as good as the first, maybe due to show more shorter length and less development. show less
Another fun visit with Georgie and Aleta! Trying to spice up their lives a little, Georgie & Aleta attend a pool party for an Over 50 group. Things are going swimmingly until one of the guests gets sick and is taken to the hospital where she dies. Naturally, Georgie has to investigate. All this while trying to figure out her love live and making the men understand that she really likes them but enjoys her freedom. Very funny series!!

I absolutely adore this series! Georgie and Aleta are great characters. I love that they are twins and live next door to each other. I also adore how their personalities are so different. Georgie is quite a hoot and is great at getting in trouble for meddling in murder investigations. Aleta is more level-headed and a great foil for Georgie! So many of Georgie's little outbursts of insanity are at Aleta's expense and makes me miss my sisters! Although we don't go around in public making up show more stories about each other. LOL!! Anywhere you find Georgie and Aleta you are bound to find some sweets and some pets too. If you like these things and enjoy a really funny read then pick up this series. They just keep getting better!
