This guide to the night sky has star maps that shine after exposure to light. The maps, arranged by season, cover 34 constellations of the Northern Hemisphere. Instructions on how to use the book are included. An appendix explains the mythology behind each constellation.
I have loved and wondered about the stars since I first saw them. The Hastings College Observatory fueled my desire to learn my way around the sky. I bought this for a niece - and kept it for myself!
A wonderful book for adults too. Useful to help visualize in various seasons, fleshed out as the various zodiacs and with the lights off as you might see them in the night sky.
Useful because the plates are oriented to the sky-position of the constellations, and the stars are rendered "as seen". Uses the "artistic" visualizations.
Compare to H. A. Rey's "The Stars".
