So, the book is in sore need of copy-editing (grammar and punctuation mistakes) but that is the fault of the publisher, not the author, so I am not rating it low because of that. I was willing to overlook some of the flaws because I adore insecure, chubby heroines, but Erica is just plain stupid. No one can possibly be this naive. The book got a little ridiculous (I mean, kidnapped in Cuba? Over the top. And Jessica is secretly a good guy? Not remotely plausible!! And Jared is an awful, show more awful person for allowing Jessica to treat Erica like that without telling her what was happening! Jesus.) and in the end, while I really hate to say anything mean (and I checked to make sure the author wasn't on GR first), the book just fell flat. Wild inconsistencies in the characters, little relationship development, and the most ridiculously cruel antagonists to the point of being almost comical. I'd be willing to check out later work after the author has developed some, but really only if it was one of my preferred tropes. show less
