The Cannibal Anaconda is a delightful children's book written by G.C. McRae and illustrated by David Anderson. The illustrations are cute and imaginative and add to the appeal of the story. The story uses the engaging techniques of repetition and rhyme as the child makes excuses, blaming the cannibal anaconda for making him eat the missing cheese, chocolate, and potato chips. The mother gives her son chores to do as a consequence of lying. However, the tables turn when the mother is missing show more something she particularly likes, and the son reminds her of the rule about lying. show less

What a lovely nice book this is, especially for kids. Told it as a bed time story to my youngsters (first translating it into Dutch). They were particularly interested in the nice illustrations,. The end is a real small surprise.
Now it started to serve them learning some English as well.
