Despite its relatively limited scope, this is by far my favorite of all the trail guides I own. It describes nearly every possible approach to each of New Hampshire's 4000-footers, and it does so in much greater detail than the AMC guide. Even more valuable are the narrative descriptions of each mountain's history and geography, and the detailed accounting of the summit view. While I'd normally be hesitant to weigh my pack down with a 300-page trade paperback, I wouldn't think of leaving show more this book at home. A treasure! show less
