This is a new take on the hotel-based whodunit. Perhaps not the setting that Agatha Christie would have used and not my own preferred genre. However, the story is well-written and quite complex at times. It's not a short and even when you think it's all over, there is more still to be revealed.
Without giving too much away, the action takes place in present-day Vienna, the infamous (and real!) Hotel Orient lures is customers to evenings of debauchery. No questions asked as long as you stick show more to the house rules. But the morning after finds two anonymous guests are found dead in their room, Sterling, the concierge, turns detective to find a killer and clear her own name. A strange relationship develops between her and the investigating detectives. An enjoyable read. show less
