Short biography
R. Mark Shipp is the Pat E. Harrell Professor of Old Testament at Austin Graduate School of Theology, Austin, Texas.

Mark has a BA and MS from Pepperdine University and an M.Div and PhD from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has been involved in the archaeological excavation at Tel Tamar/En Hazeva, Israel, since 2004.

He was trained in hymnology at Princeton Seminary and is the co-composer of the oratorio Hinds' Feet on High Places. He has authored Of Dead Kings and Dirges (SBL Press), "1 and 2 Chronicles" in The Transforming Word: One-Volume Bible Commentary (ACU Press), and co-authored An Akkadian Handbook (Eisenbrauns), with Douglas Miller.

He is the editor of Timeless: Ancient Psalms for the Church Today (vols. 1, 2 and 3), from Abilene Christian University Press, and CD projects based on these volumes.
