Another good sea story from Perry Comer. Captain Pike's mission to rescue a Royalist French sea captain provides sufficient challenges to demonstrate his command capabilities. Good characters and a lively plot keep the story moving and well worth reading.

Nicely done. This series remains compelling.
This is a brief but well-done tale in the Donland Saga. The action is active and benefits from a well-chosen, yet seldom-seen, site for this genre.
Hopefully, another new series has started.
Comer is a master who has developed excellent characters that suit and evolve within the tale. His nautical knowledge is extensive and adds much realism and creativity to battle scene maneuvers and shipboard life.
A very good start to a promising new series.
The main characters are quite interesting and worth following. Comer will hopefully continue with this tale of an “Age of Sail” officer who certainly came up the hawse the hard way
