Mark Ellison is an acclaimed carpenter/ contractor in NYC who builds upscale interiors. This book is a sort of scattershot collection of stories about his builds, his colleagues, crews, and friends, and a bit of his personal life. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, it feels a bit like the stories you'd hear from him if you regularly went out for beers with him after work. I couldn't help wishing he'd turn his apparently considerable skill to green building. He did discuss ONE such rebuild, but show more most of the builds he describes could be described as expensive follies with a short shelf life. show less
