Steven A. Ruffin

Great book about the beginnings of aviation and a hard core group of 38 US aviators who flew for the French during WWI. The multiple sources used add to it's credibility. There are multiple photos, inserted at just the right place to enhance readability. Many of the photos contrast in 2014 one hundred years after the war--nicely done. The book talks about pilots, not support crew or much about leadership. A couple of guys became really famous in their time and the story follows thorough with show more their lives; some good, some not so much. I found the book at Washington and Lee college book store. It's a super read for anyone interested in aviation and airmen. show less
