Excellent text on cartography. I could only describe this book as a lavish labor of love. It is a large format, full color book that covers in detail many aspects of cartography with an emphasis on modern mapmaking. Historical maps are covered, but not extensively. As one would expect of a text on cartography, the illustrations are extensive, detailed and greatly add to the appeal of this volume.
