Sixty or so of the known 350 ogham stones in Ireland were found on the Dingle peninsula, and several are now in the Irish National Museum, Dublin and local village museums. This double-sided booklet (one side in English, the other in Irish) introduces Ogham and general history of ogham stones. The stones generally have only a name upon them. It then lists each of the known Ogham stones from the Dingle Peninsula, what is known of the history of that stone, such as where it was found and where show more it is currently located, what letters were carved on the stone and any other carvings. For stones still in fields and structures, it also lists who owns the land where the stone is currently situated. There are maps where appropriate (by Liam Holden) and cartoons to enliven the text (by Domhnall Ó Bric). A useful little booklet for those interested in seeing these stones carved in the first half of the first millennium AD. show less
