I think I'll save even more time and dump this. The meals may save time, but not one of them looks edible - some of my favorite foods made a) expensively (out of convenience foods) and b) unhealthily (see previous note). I'd rather spend some more time and make healthy, good-tasting meals.
Though I do not follow the Weight Watchers program, this book looked like it had a lot of healthy and tasty recipes so I decided to buy it anyways. I like how the sections are divided up, that it has a good amount of seafood included, that the nutrition facts and serving sizes are listed, that it includes a pretty good amount of full page color photos of certain recipes, and the "food notes" at the bottom of each recipe which are really helpful or informative at the least- and I enjoy any show more extra tips!
I do wish cookbooks that include nutrition facts would also include the sugar content but I haven't seen any that do. Though I do appreciate that the sodium contents of most of these recipes is very low. I also wish this book had more pictures because I loooove that in a cookbook but am happy it at least has a good bit of them. I also love the sheer number of recipes included in this book and plan to use many of them time and again in the future.

Ive never done the Weight Watcher's point, program thing (blergh) but the idea of less dishes had me completely sold. I cook for 6 people everyday. I could do without so many dishes.

The recipes are divided by pot/dish. I haven't seen a huge impact in reducing dirty dishes. I think a crockpot still holds that title. Not all recipes are pictured and I much prefer a visual so I can say to my kids, "This is what its SUPPOSED to look like. Be quiet and eat. You like raisins."

The recipes Ive tried show more are good and have some nice twists to traditional recipes. I haven't tried them all but so far, we have a winner regardless of my inability to follow explicit recipes. This is why I cook and rarely bake. Exact sciences and all that...

My only true complaint is the binding in hardback.

LISTEN UP Recipe Book People! Spiral or 3-ring notebook bindings are what we cooks want. Stop making cookbooks in traditional hardback or trade paper.

(See American Test Kitchen Cookbooks. They have it going on)

Cookbooks get too fat for clothes pins that ruin pages, or bindings crack when extended beyond design, pages dirty from constant touching, or instead, opting for a frou frou book stand. I'm not about to go out and buy some expensive "Good Thing" that will clutter up another counter, drawer, etc... in my kitchen. Sorry, not sorry, Martha. Spiral bindings would solve this dilemma nicely.

Overall, I wouldn't pay full price for this but I'm quite happy with the $2 thrift shop find.

Yes, I know this is a diet book. But forget that. This cookbook is also the only one I've ever tried with a pad thai recipe that comes anything close to restaurant pad thai as I know it. And there are other recipes in it that are well worth investigating too.
