A satire on upper-class manners and stiff-upper-lippery. "Never let a lady feel embarrassed. If there is a fire in your hotel, and in escaping, you meet a lady in scanty attire, remark airily, 'Hot enough for one's summer things, isn't it?'"
This is a lovely book. The illustrations are what initially drew me in. The text is funny and lighthearted, and really shows its age, but that's okay. Good book for any dog lover or small children.
Cute story. Copyright 1902. Cecil Aldin wrote or illustrated a good number of dog books in the early 1900 to 1930's. I read this online at gutenberg.org. Good to see his nice artwork, but not the same as having/holding the book. Story is of a mischievous dog in a household told on his actions through a day.
