The manga makes a sudden two year jump. We are told that Grandpa and Elfriede are gone and Kouhei is training to better protect Hazuki. There is a whole host of new characters here including a fiance, grandmother and master. We get a run through of how things work on the mountain. I wasn't thrilled with the two year jump or missing out on what happened to two of my favorite characters; particularly since they completely disappeared from the book. I think if they had shown us what happened to show more Grandpa and Elfriede I would have been less annoyed about the jump since training scenes can get repetitive and I get that. show less

This is the volume I like the most of all of them. Here we get Elfriede's personal history which is actually really interesting and we get to see Elfriede's relationship with Grandpa develop. Elfriede's history was sad and kind of beautiful. Definitely liked it.

It's just one thing after another in this series! Now that Luna is back from being kidnapped the count kidnaps Grandfather instead. Elfriede officially changes sides and helps get Grandfather back. This is another one that is heavy on the action light on the people stuff which is what I really like. I see a lot of people describe this book as funny. There are humorous bits here and there but I don't know that I would recommend this as a "funny manga". I see it as more of an action-y book.
