A world of wonders; or marvels of the earth, sea and sky in animate and inanimate nature: Embellished with three hu by George T. Ferris
This book has short articles by the folks who were at the forefront of thier fields when this was written. Most of the information is still good, and there are hundreds of beautiful pen and ink illustrations of fossils, animals, meteorites and plant specimens. This book was among my favorites as a child.
