I love techno-thrillers, and the premise of this book is an intriguing one, that there was a much older human civilization - perhaps several in succession - that encoded a message of supreme importance to humanity in the human DNA. That said, the book suffers by way of mediocre writing, the occasional bit of irrelevancy (that whole prologue was unnecessary and misleading), and lapses in logic. A series of advanced human civilizations - perhaps extending millions of years into the past - are show more completely destroyed, with no trace, fossil or otherwise, of their existence. Even the emotional throw-ins (the agonizing death of Madison's child, and his relationship with Grace) were clumsily depicted. Too bad; I'd have loved to see this idea developed by a more able writer. show less

It started out well and very fast-paced, but died in the end. It was very-disappointing!
