Admittedly, this is the kind of book that I associate with studies and essays. It is not the sort of book that I seek out at this stage in life.
And, yet, I was at the library to pick up a copy of K.I. Press' Types of Canadian Women, Volume II, and I spotted this in the 900's, and it felt appropriate to add to the stack.
(Because, yes, of course, I was not only picking up one book: who does that?)
Merna Forster's 100 Canadian Heroines: Famous and Forgotten Faces is surprisingly browse-able. It show more reminds me that I should spend more time browsing the books that I believe are written for other readers.
I did recognize several names, including Adelaide Hunter Hoodless, Agnes Macphail, Nellie McClung, Aimee Semple McPherson, Mary Pickford, Laura Secord, Emily Stowe, and Jenny Trout.
Plus the bookish part of me recognized Marie-Joseph Angélique (thanks to Afua Cooper's The Hanging of Angélique show less
