Lisa Frederic

Lisa Frederic is a 30-something commercial fisherman living on almost uninhabitable Kodiak Island, Alaska when she watches a portion of the famous 1,000+ mile Iditarod dogsled race and finds herself hooked. Running With Champions is Frederic's memoir of watching that first race, volunteering at a way-station the next year, then going to work for an Iditarod race champion to help train dogs, and ultimately entering the race herself with a team of young dogs she has helped to train. Not show more particularly well written but told honestly, RWC is a quick, interesting read. show less
