This is a very simple book for young class. It teaches a nice lesson on friendship and bravery. Both characters in this book are brave at different times and are in need of assistance at different times. The illustrations are very realistic.

Although the central message of this book is bravery and friendship this could be used for an older elementary class if they are learning a foreign language. This book was first printed in Italy. It would be a good learning tool for students to see the show more same book printed in two different languages. Students could compare and contrast the two copies. show less

This is the story of Johnny Appleseed and his pursuit to spread his love of apple trees to the West. This is a tall tale but the outrageous claims usually found in this type of book are extremely toned down. The only mention was the time he spent snuggled up with a bear. The illustrations were fun and bright.
Little Squirrel's Special Nest is about a squirrel who is getting ready for winter and everyone keeps trying to help but he refuses to let anyone help him until one day he gets robbed. The squirrel realizes how important friends are when they help him get food and a nice place to sleep for the winter.

I thought this book was really cute, it also had great pictures of different animals. I think this book really shows how hard animals have to work to get ready for the winter. I love how they show more show you how important it is to have good friends.

I think this would be a great book for teaching chldren not only about winter but about the importance of friendship. I could have books about winter and talk about how animals have to prepare for it and talk about how we have to prepare. I could also read books about friendship.

I liked this book because it has such a good lesson behind it. The big idea and lesson of this book is all about bravery and friendship. It teaches students that bravery is very easy to come by when you are helping someone you care about. Two reasons I liked this book were the illustrations, and the little picture glossary in the back of the book. The reason I like the illustrations so much, is because they are so life like. The illustrations look like real photographs and drawings all at show more the same time. On one page there is a fox and a badger playing in grass with flowers and butterflies. The butterflies are so detailed and they look so real. The reason I like the glossary in the back of the book is because its such a great and helpful extra textual feature. The glossary is two separate pages with three foxes on one page and other facts about foxes on the other page. When showing the different fox’s, it has a picture of it and then describes it. The other page just has some facts such as, “The fox’s main enemies are wolves, birds of prey, and humans who hunt for their beautiful fur.” Overall this book had a great message and taught readers about foxes and badgers. show less
