INTRODUCTION

Several years ago I was faced with a major problem--not
being able to sing. I was placed on complete voice rest for
several weeks. Gradually, I was able to return to talking and
again to singing--a love of my life. It was from this
experience that I became interested in vocal problems.
As a general music teacher, I am repeatedly made aware of
the variety of vocal problems that can be encountered. These
problems not only exist for the teacher but .for the student as
well.
The following show more study is presented as a reference tool to
assist the general music teacher or anyone else who may use
their voice extensively and could experience difficulties. As
teachers, the stress and anxiety of getting the message to the
student can place a burden on the voice. Hopefully, some of
the suggestions offered will be beneficial to the reader. show less
