I spent eighteen months in New Zealand a decade or so ago now, on a working holiday that saw me take in almost all of New Zealand, from Invercargill in the chilly south, to north of Auckland in the chilly north and most chilly places in between. I spent most of my New Zealand sojourn in Wellington; truly the coldest, wettest and windiest place I have ever visited. I can't blame that on the "Rough Guide to New Zealand" though.
The guide covers New Zealand fairly well, except for the smallest show more towns I visited along the way. The Coromandel Peninsula was particularly memorable and the "Rough Guide to New Zealand" served its purpose well steering me away from the poor accommodation choices. I also accidentally left the guide book outside so it got drenched in the next rain storm that hit but I can't blame that on the "Rough Guide ..." either. show less
