A wide variety of general reflections, some of which resonated with me, some of which did not. Food for thought for the future and for selective re-reading when I feel moved to do so. No star rating.
Hume, Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster and a monk of Ampleforth Abbey, is an extremely popular religious writer in his native England. This short work is a collection of simple discussions of the spiritual life for "the less clever, but, let me add, equally worthy and good." Growing out of conversations with teenagers and children, this sweet-tempered work ought to appeal to many sincere Christians who may not have time for more substantial spiritual guidebooks. Hume is rather like a less show more complex C.S. LewisAthe only author quoted hereAand his work should find readers where Lewis is popular. show less
