This book has beautiful pictures that go along with the Old English Tale. The narrative is longer than most childrens books and the vocabulary is great. Young children, about two, could have this read to them but not in one sitting. Older children up until about third grade would also like this book to be read to them but they can do it in one sitting. This book would be great in the classroom to:
-retell the folktale of Jack and the Beanstalk
-have children think about the unique elements of show more the longer story
-pull out characters
-identify with different perspectives in the text show less
