Under the thematic mantle of being about drawing the figure from life, Mr Steinhart gives: one of the most comprehensive considerations of the overall function of drawing as an endeavor unique to humanity, the concerns and challenges of those who take it up as artistic calling ,and a general historic overview of communities of artists and models as they have developed. Many thoughtful insights -highly recommended.
Peter Steinhart wrote a comprehensive review of nude Drawing classes (NDC). It is a classic. He discusses the character of NDC from many perspectives with depth and intelligence.
Not sure how long ago I read this, but it was around 2007 or so. I remember that I loved it though I don't have a copy of it anymore.
