"I received this book from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily reviewed this book and this is my honest review."
Out of the mist is a well written fast paced action thriller with an element of romance. It is the first book from Lauren Giordano that I have read but it will definitely not be my last. I really enjoyed the suspenseful storyline which fluctuates between mystery and romance. The characters are well developed making it easy to make a connection with them. You will find yourself hoping show more Matt will solve the case, prove Juliet innocent and keep her safe. But will digging further into the case prove her innocent or cast more of a shadow of doubt on her innocence?
I look forward to reading the next book in this series. show less

Jenna is afraid. She put her life, trust and heart in the hands of the wrong man and ended up lonely, abused and miserable. Now on her own with two children to look after, she can't afford to make another bad judgement. She just wants to feel safe, loved and happy. Not worried all the time. An act of kindness, finds her questioning everything she believes. Jake is a gift she never expected to find but her past has made her cautious. I received a copy of Trusting Jake by Lauren Giordano in show more exchange for an honest review. Jenna was a courageous woman determined to succeed in a man's world. Anyone who follows my reviews knows that strong female characters appeal to me. Ms. Giordano created in Jenna a woman who was brave enough to start over and make her own way after heartache and disappointment. I find inspiration in that. show less
REVIEW: “Being on the run had taught Annie a great deal about perspective. And mercy. The kindness of strangers. Everyone had problems. Some people were just better equipped to handle them.” Protecting her boys while staying one step ahead of her psycho ex-husband pushed Annie to her limits. Even though Hank’s smile hid his broken soul, it was the bright spot of Annie’s day. Smiles turned to touches, which turned to flames between them. A wonderful story of survival, danger, and show more love. "I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review."
DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: Love Under Construction . . .
Retired Army sniper Hank Freeman has relearned how to be alone. In a world gone colorless with grief, the widower views life in varying shades of gray. Until bumping into Annie, a mysterious woman fighting a solitary battle. But, when their paths cross, he can see only light. And a rainbow of opportunity.
Annie McKenna can't afford any distractions. On the run from her abusive ex-husband, she has two kids to hide and protect. No job. No money. No hope. Until she meets Hank at the shelter she's escaped to. For the first time in years, she's awakened to a sharp sense of longing. For a normal life. With a man she can trust. But Hank seems too good to be true.
Falling for Annie and her boys was the easy part. But convincing her to build a new dream with him might take longer than the addition Hank is building for the shelter. And protecting them from her ex is a full-time job. Believing his beautiful blueprint will take all the faith Annie can summon. She can't afford any mistakes. Because where she's escaped from . . . mistakes can kill. show less
